Gamepad Tester
Every Button, Stick & Trigger — Live
Connect any Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, or generic controller and see every input light up in real time. No download, no install, works straight in your browser.
Test Your Gamepad
Press any button to connect, then work through every input — face buttons, bumpers, triggers, sticks, and D-pad — to confirm they all register correctly.
Testing Your Gamepad in Four Steps
Connect your controller
Plug in via USB, or pair via Bluetooth, then press any button to wake browser detection.
Check the sticks
Move each stick to its full range and confirm the dot tracks smoothly with no jumps or dead spots.
Test every button
Press each face button, bumper, D-pad direction, and stick click, and confirm it highlights in the grid.
Check trigger sensitivity
Slowly squeeze each analog trigger and confirm the bar fills smoothly from 0% to 100%.
Controller Compatibility
This tester uses the standard browser Gamepad API, which works with most controllers your operating system already recognizes as a generic HID gamepad.
| Controller | Connection | Expected Support |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox Controllers (wired/wireless) | USB or Bluetooth/adapter | Full support |
| PlayStation DualShock/DualSense | USB or Bluetooth | Full support |
| Nintendo Switch Pro Controller | USB or Bluetooth | Generally works, some layouts vary |
| Generic USB gamepads | USB | Full support |
| Fight sticks / flight sticks | USB | Detected, button mapping may differ |
Actual compatibility depends on your OS driver support and browser version, not just the controller itself — if detection fails, check your OS’s device/Bluetooth settings first.
Gamepad Not Detected? Try This
Press a button first
Browsers typically only report a connected gamepad after receiving at least one input event — simply plugging in isn’t always enough to trigger detection.
Check OS-level pairing
Confirm the controller shows up in your operating system’s Bluetooth or USB device list before troubleshooting the browser — if the OS doesn’t see it, no browser will either.
Try a different USB port or browser
Some older USB hubs or ports can fail to properly enumerate a controller. Switching to a rear I/O port, or testing in a different browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox), can rule out a port- or browser-specific issue.
Close other apps using the controller
Some game launchers or overlay software (Steam, Discord, driver utilities) can exclusively lock a controller, preventing the browser from reading it. Close these and refresh the page.
