How this converter works: Each game uses a different yaw multiplier — the internal rate at which mouse movement turns into camera rotation. Formula: New Sens = (Old Sens × 0.0066) ÷ 0.022 (then adjusted for DPI if changed). Overwatch 2 yaw = 0.0066 · CS2 yaw = 0.022

Overwatch 2 to CS2 Sensitivity Converter — How It Works

Overwatch 2 and CS2 are both competitive team-based shooters, but their internal sensitivity scales are completely different. OW2 uses a high-number percentage scale (typically 4–10) while CS2 uses a low decimal scale (typically 0.8–2.5). Entering your OW2 number directly into CS2 would make your aim move over 3× faster than you’re used to.

Overwatch 2 yaw = 0.0066 · CS2 yaw = 0.022

CS2’s sensitivity scale is approximately 3.33× higher than OW2’s. An Overwatch 2 sensitivity of 6.0 converts to approximately 1.8 in CS2.

Useful fact:

OW2 and Warzone share the same yaw multiplier (0.0066). This means the OW2 to CS2 formula is identical to the Warzone to CS2 formula. If you already know your Warzone-to-CS2 conversion, the math is the same here.

Our converter applies the verified yaw multipliers for both games to calculate a sensitivity that produces the exact same physical cm/360 distance in CS2 as you had in Overwatch 2.

CS2 Sens = OW2 Sens × (0.0066 ÷ 0.022)

CS2 Sens = OW2 Sens × 0.3

// Example: 6.0 × 0.3 = 1.8
// With DPI change: multiply by (OW2 DPI / CS2 DPI)

Why OW2 and CS2 Sensitivity Scales Are Different

CS2 inherits the sensitivity system used by CS:GO and original CS, which uses a very small yaw value of 0.022 to produce precise, low-speed camera rotation ideal for long-range aiming in tight corridors. Overwatch was designed by Blizzard with a wider range of play styles — fast mobile heroes, vertical movement, large maps — and uses a higher sensitivity scale with a yaw of 0.0066 to give players more room to find comfortable settings across all hero types. Despite looking totally different on paper, the two systems can be precisely matched using yaw math.

Tips for Switching From Overwatch 2 to CS2

1. CS2 requires counter-strafing — OW2 does not

In Overwatch 2, you can shoot accurately while moving because hero accuracy is not affected by movement the same way. In CS2, shooting while moving has a heavy accuracy penalty. You must counter-strafe — tap the opposite directional key to stop momentum — before firing. This changes how you use your mouse in fights even though your converted sensitivity is correct.

2. Learn CS2’s recoil patterns — OW2 doesn’t have spray control

Overwatch 2’s weapons have mild spread but no learnable recoil patterns. CS2’s rifles (AK-47, M4) have distinct spray patterns you can control with mouse movement to keep shots accurate. Your converted sensitivity gives you the right base speed for counter-strafing and one-taps — spray control is an additional CS2-specific skill to develop.

3. Your converted CS2 sensitivity will look lower than your OW2 number

An OW2 sensitivity of 6.0 converts to only 1.8 in CS2 — this is correct. CS2’s yaw is 3.33× higher than OW2’s, so it needs a lower number for the same physical speed. Do not increase your CS2 sensitivity because the number looks smaller — the physical aim speed is identical.

4. CS2 has no hero abilities — all muscle memory is aim-based

Overwatch 2 rounds are partially decided by ability timings, ultimates, and hero counters. CS2 rounds are almost purely decided by aim, movement, economy, and utility usage. Your converted sensitivity gives you a solid aim foundation, but the mental adjustment from ability-based play to pure aim-based play takes time.

5. Disable mouse acceleration and enable raw input in CS2

CS2 has raw input enabled by default, which bypasses Windows pointer settings. Also confirm “Enhance pointer precision” is disabled in Windows. Both steps ensure your converted sensitivity behaves exactly as the formula predicts.

OW2 to CS2 Sensitivity — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the OW2 to CS2 sensitivity formula?
The formula is: CS2 Sensitivity = OW2 Sensitivity × (0.0066 ÷ 0.022), which equals OW2 Sensitivity × 0.3. For example, an OW2 sensitivity of 6.0 converts to 1.8 in CS2 at the same DPI. If switching DPI, multiply further by (OW2 DPI ÷ CS2 DPI).

Yes. CS2 and Apex Legends both use a yaw multiplier of 0.022, which is identical. This means the OW2 to CS2 formula and the OW2 to Apex formula produce the same result. If you have already converted your OW2 sensitivity to Apex, that number is also your CS2 sensitivity at the same DPI.

Yes. Overwatch and Overwatch 2 use the same sensitivity system and yaw multiplier (0.0066). If you played OW1 and kept your sensitivity when moving to OW2, this converter applies identically to both versions.
Because CS2's yaw multiplier (0.022) is 3.33× higher than OW2's (0.0066). CS2 achieves the same physical aiming speed with a lower number. An OW2 sensitivity of 6.0 and a CS2 sensitivity of 1.8 produce the exact same cm/360 rotation — the physical mouse movement is identical, only the numbers look different.

Overwatch 2 has a separate relative aim sensitivity while zoomed (used by heroes like Widowmaker and Ana). CS2 uses the same sensitivity for all situations — there is no separate scoped sensitivity setting. Converting your general OW2 mouse sensitivity is all you need for CS2.
Yes. Both OW2 and Warzone use a yaw multiplier of 0.0066. This means the conversion from OW2 to CS2 and from Warzone to CS2 use the same formula. If you have used our Warzone to CS2 converter before, the math is identical here.
Yes. The reverse formula is: OW2 Sensitivity = CS2 Sensitivity × (0.022 ÷ 0.0066) = CS2 Sensitivity × 3.333. For example, a CS2 sensitivity of 1.5 converts to 5.0 in OW2. Use our All Games Converter for reverse conversions.
